Our Story

CurlyQ Cuties was founded in January 2008 by mom entrepreneur Stephanie Estrin on a quest to create high quality imaginative toys. She started out making Monsters for her children and her friend's children. The Monsters were so well received, she decided to start a Monster-making business.

CurlyQ Cuties was originally an Etsy.com shop selling ready-made stuffed Monsters. After repeated requests for customized variations of her Monsters, Stephanie recognized an opportunity to provide a customer-designed made-to-order plush toy at an affordable price. The major challenge, however, was most customers wanted to see what they would receive before they placed an order.

In July 2008, CurlyQCuties.com was launched to address this concern. Shortly thereafter, Stephanie stopped actively creating ready-made Monsters for sale on her Etsy site and focused instead on CurlyQCuties.com's customer-designed Monsters.

Since then, CurlyQ Cuties has added several new products (Maddie's Monster, Fairy-Teeth tooth fairy pillows, Moggins, and Splatopus) and product variations (for example, Deluxe Monsters and 2-Sided Moggins). Several new colors, new body styles, and new feature variations have also been introduced.

Although CurlyQ Cuties has outgrown its humble beginnings, we're still a business that's family-owned and family-run. We haven't forgotten the importance of the attention to detail and dedication to quality that helped us get to where we are today. We are committed to providing unique products that absolutely amaze and astound their recipients.
